Hi, I’m Julie A. Martin—artist, educator, and founder of the Changemaker Lab.
Over the years, I’ve worked with teens from around the world through online programs, and one thing has always stood out: today’s teens care deeply about the world. They want to take action—on climate, mental health, and justice—but haven’t had a dedicated space to connect globally and do something together.
Before launching TCL, I spent six years worldschooling my two daughters through over 50 countries. That journey showed me how powerful learning becomes when it’s hands-on, real-world, and fueled by curiosity.
The Changemaker Lab brings all of that together. It’s a global online community where teens use what they love—like storytelling, game design, animation, debate, and media literacy—to collaborate on projects that create real impact.
We’re building something different here: a space where creativity meets purpose, and where teens feel seen, heard, and empowered to act on what matters. Because when young people have support and community, they don’t just imagine a better world—they build it.
I'm the founder of The Changemaker Lab, a career artist with a master’s degree in psychology focused on adolescent development and I am a doctoral candidate (EdD) in ed tech and instructional design. I’m passionate about creating learning experiences that help teens build confidence, think critically, and take action on the issues they care about most, through the activities they love.
Svet holds a master's degree in animation and also teaches game design. As an educator, he is incredibly passionate about what he does. He focuses on creating a space where students feel comfortable connecting and enjoy collaborating. He is an inspiring and engaging educator and always a favorite with students!

Born with the unfortunate circumstances of being Canadian, Quin has dedicated her life to trying to convince people that Canada is actually kinda cool as she travels the world with her home-schooling family. When she's not advocating on behalf of her home, Quin spends most of her time writing fantasy books, planning Dungeons and Dragons campaigns that she'll never get to run, and imagining new worlds full of magic and dragons.
I hold a master’s degree in education and have been teaching since 2001, with a focus on online learning since 2017. For the past eight years, I’ve been traveling full-time with my daughter while Worldschooling. I’m passionate about fostering curiosity—helping students ask meaningful questions, explore the world around them, and grow into lifelong learners.
